I believe that the movie titled The Last Stand of the Mohican's was a very accurate depiction of the seven years war. This was commonly seen in different scenes of the movie whether it was the scene where the British officers pretty much had to bribe the colonists into service, how the British army was formed into tight fast moving ranks. Unlike the colonists who were scattered about.

The Last of the Mohicans: KK
I feel like this movie did a great job of depicting the French and Indian War. The movie made clear that the British and French were fighting for control of North America in the 18th century. However, neither of these sides could have fought without the help of their indian allies. As we watched in the fighting seen, the indians were there to help the British but, there were still differences that needed to be settled.

The Last of the Mohicans: Does this film give an accurate depiction of the topic that we are discussing?
I think the movie gives a fairly accurate depiction of what things were like at the time. The moviemakers did make an effort to use historically correct costumes and props and tried to set up a fort from historical documents. More importantly, it also highlighted some of the tensions between Britain, France, the colonists, and the Indians. You can see how Britain and France have mutual disdain for each other, the contrasts between Britain and the colonists, and how Indians align themselves with either country.
One thing the movie could have done a better job of is talking about the different Indian tribes involved. It wasn't all cut and dry, one big Indian tribe on the British side, another tribe on the French side. Bad Indians, good Indians. There was more than one tribe involved and alliances shifted constantly; the Indian people had their own agenda. Plus for better historical accuracy, get rid of all the dramatic and romantic tripe, but then I suppose it would never have made it into book or movie form...

Florida Slavery Reparations
I believe that it would be mistake for the State of Florida to pay out money to the ancestors of slaves. Due to the current economic situation I really do not believe that Florida even has the money or the manpower to complete the task it is just too large. I think that Florida would be better of creating a memorial or monument for the public to view from. Doing this would not take a large amount of money to finish, yet at the same time it would increase the awareness of slavery in America. Not only that I think it would help future generations of Floridians to know what slavery was like, how it happenend, and who was involoved. Thank You.
Slavery Reparations
Please provide your feedback on how the United States should deal with it's slave holding past. Should the descendents of slaves be compensated? Or should there be some other form of reparation?
